The Vanderbilt Eye Institute in Nashville, Tennessee is actively seeking a Cornea and Uveitis specialist to join our current faculty of 2 Corneal specialists and 2 Uveitis specialists. The Vanderbilt Eye Institute is a multi-specialty academic ophthalmology practice with multiple satellite offices and annual patient volume in excess of 150,000. An associated Veteran’s Administration Hospital is located across the street.
The Department seeks faculty candidates who are cornea fellowship-trained and certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Ophthalmology, who have experience and comfort with managing complex corneal conditions and surgery along with ocular inflammation such as scleritis, ocular cicatricial pemphigoid, peripheral ulcerative keratitis, anterior uveitis, etc. In addition to cornea clinic, this faculty member will spend 1 day a week in the uveitis clinic.
This position is a full-time clinician-educator or clinical-practice track Assistant Professor position. The position is open to matched cornea fellows with expected 2025 training completion, recent cornea fellowship graduates, and current clinical faculty with a desire to integrate a patient care practice with a demonstrated commitment to teaching in an academic setting. Clinical and translational research opportunities and mentorship are available.
