Medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent) from an accredited institution.

Eye Disease Consultants - Uveitis Specialist

Eye Disease Consultants is a 4 physician practice in West Hartford, CT.

Two of us are uveitis/cornea specialists with very heavy and broad surgical loads (cataract/cornea/glaucoma) and the other two are medical retina/cataract. Lots of our patients are secondary or tertiary referrals.

One uveitis/cornea specialist is moving for family reasons, leaving a wide open opportunity for an anterior segment surgeon or for a uveitis specialist with a more limited surgical practice. Lots of training backgrounds could fit in, but uveitis training is a huge advantage in the current arrangement. This position offers an excellent career in this beautiful location and superbly staffed and equipped setting. It's a great practice in a nice place, and we are nice people.

Required Qualifications

The Retina Division of Wills Eye Hospital (Mid Atlantic Retina) is recruiting for a faculty-level position in its Uveitis Unit to begin in 2024 or 2025. Established in 2014, the Uveitis Unit now comprises two full-time faculty who diagnose and treat all types of uveitis and ocular inflammatory disease and is one of the busiest uveitis practices in the country. In 2023, the Uveitis Unit saw about 600 new and 5000 follow-up patients. Qualified applicants must be fellowship trained in Uveitis and those with dual uveitis and medical or surgical retinal fellowship training are also encouraged to apply. Teaching medical students, residents, and retina fellows is expected, and expectations are for a uveitis fellowship to start in 2025. Competitive salary and benefits.

Our offices are equipped with state-of-the-art retinal imaging, including ultra-wide field angiography. We are sensitive to the unique needs and demands of uveitis practice including lab follow-ups and have a strong ancillary team to assist the practicing physician. University of Toronto - Uveitis Specialist

The Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences at the University of Toronto (DOVS) is inviting applications for the position of Uveitis Ophthalmologist. The appointment is for a full-time clinical position with an expectation of at least 20% non-clinical work (research, teaching, and academic administration). The expected start date is July 1, 2024, or another mutually agreeable date thereafter.

The candidate will participate in the teaching of medical students, residents and fellows and will add to the body of knowledge through original research. The successful candidate will provide clinical sub-specialty care in uveitis ophthalmology and will also participate in on-call duties. The successful candidate will assume care of patients in an existing clinical practice.

The successful candidate should possess research interest and aptitude as evidenced by advanced fellowship training and publication history. The candidate must hold an MD degree or equivalent, have fellowship training in uveitis. The candidate should be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto at the rank of assistant professor or higher. The candidate must currently hold or be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. This position is resourced with clinic space.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be board eligible or board certified in Ophthalmology by the time of appointment, and be eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio. Qualified candidates must hold an MD or DO degree and have completed an approved residency program in Ophthalmology and fellowship training in Uveitis. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and academic credentials. Knowledge and proficiency in medical and surgical management of Uveitis. Demonstrated interest in scholarship and discovery by evidence of basic and/or clinical applied research and publications. Commitment to resident, fellow and medical student education is required.
